Let's see what bloggers have to say about Cookies
A Cookie For Every or No Occasion
I adore to bake and cookies are always something I adore to experiment with. Cookies have to not only taste good but visually look good. My Sister-in-Law and I started a Baking Day party, over 15 years ago where we spent every day baking cookies, having a few drinks, laughs and ending the day with watching the movie It's a Wonderful Life. Needless to say the cookies at the end of the day were not as pretty as the ones at the beginning. So where can you receive consistent, well decorated cookies without

Awards, Tag's and Chocolate . . .
"Friendship is a chain of gold,Shape in God's every-perfect mold. Each link a grin, a giggle, a tear,A touch of the hand, a world of cheer."~Helen KellerI would have to say that, without a doubt, I consider my friends to be one of the greatest treasures I have acquired here on earth, next to my family. I've often heard it said that friends, are family you receive to pick for yourself. I've chosen myself a wicked good family! (Is that teenage slang or am I behind the times?) Anyways, none of my friend

Everything Cookies
It's been way too long since our last post. Over the last month, I've been distracted by foodgawker, the election (I'm supporting "that one") and Penn State Football. I've spent entirely too much time in front of the computer, mostly with foodgawker, making it difficult to crank out a post. We've been cooking regularly, but I've been too sleepy/lazy to tug out the camera and tripod to document our meals. Hungry Bear has constantly reminded me that I'm neglecting SND. To appease her and some of

Why The PBS 'Do You Think Sarah Palin Is Qualified?' Poll Is Unscientific
Lately we've gotten plenty of emails regarding a certain "Do you think Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as Vice President of the United States?" poll over at the PBS website for news magazine show NOW. The spiel usually goes something like this: "The poll is neck and neck. I'm sorry to pass along a mass email, but this takes about 3 seconds and might keep the world." First of every, do media polls have that much of an impact on how Americans vote that we should give a shit? If so, we're in troub

FOs! And new WIPs!
So lately I've been too busy to sit at the computer and post about what I've been doing. Plus, with what's been going on at the store as well as job searching, I've been mentally, well, not too good. So during the day I'm either at work or elbow deep in very colorful wet wool. In the evenings I'm usually either tying undyed skeins (so they don't receive tangled in the dye process), or I'm cutting the extra ties off/twisting hanks/tagging hanks. After I finish that each evening I receive a little time t

An Imitation Deficit
“When he wants juice, hold the cup in front of him and say ‘joo’ and he will try to say something like that and keep on doing it, and then when he can say ‘joo’ and he wants the juice, hold the cup and say, ‘juice’ and he will try to say it and then he will say it closer and closer.” That’s what a pediatrician in the Saint Paul kids’s Hospital told me when almost 10 years ago. Charlie was a toddler and not yet talking; the pediatrician nodded about my concerns but told me to give the “joo/

Homemaking, June Cleaver is not for me.
Not my actual class. I am not THAT old. For some reason, the onset of fall always sends me back into my school year memory archive. And today I was recalling my 7th grade elective; Home Economics. It wasn’t much of an ‘elective’ given that the option was taking store with Mr. creepy-smelly store teacher who called every girl on campus “lil’darlin”. So Home Ec it was. With Mrs. Lewis. Mrs Lewis was from a by-gone era and would frequently say things like ‘this is a skill that will help you be the
